First, you eat normal portions of food, but with a restricted Carbohydrate intake. It also makes you steer clear of lean meats such as Turkey, Chicken etc. This phase lasts two weeks on an average. High-glycemic vegetables as well as low fat cheese, nuts etc are also a consideration. Expect to loose 8-12 pounds in this phase, provided you follow it up.
Next, some of the banned food is slowly introduced while you continue to lose 1-2 pounds per week. The phase lasts till you want it to.
Simply put, Phase 3 is maintenance and one should follow it for life. If you pack on pounds still, just return to phase 1.
