Suitable Nutrition is the Mantra to Good Health

Nutrition, Diet plans, South Beach Diet
Nutrition is the vital elements that we get from food. Nutrition fuels strength and energy to the body to perform various bodily functions. So, it is important to eat right kind of food to promote health and to reduce the risk of mortality or disability due to chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancers, diabetes, stroke, and osteoporosis .

Food contains different type of nutrients like carbohydrate, protein, fat, vitamins, minerals and water and these nutrients are the factors responsible for normal growth and development of the body, and deficiency of any of these nutrients may cause harmful impact on normal growth of the body.

Better nutrition means stronger immune systems, less illness and better health. Healthy children learn better. Healthy people are stronger and are more productive both in reproductive and economic sense. Though nutrition is synonymous to consumption of food, we must make right choices in terms of food we take and the amount that we consume should be in accordance to the need of our body. But due to modern day lifestyle we have very little time to think about our health and plan a proper diet for ourselves. For maintaining a healthy body and to look good we must follow a proper diet plan.

A balance diet refers to the intake of appropriate and adequate amount of foods and drinks that supply nutrient and energy to the body for maintenance of body cells, tissues and organs that support the normal growth and development of the body. In general, experts recommend eating a wide variety of foods rich in complex carbohydrates, fiber, fruits, vegetables and low-fat dairy foods as part of a healthy diet. They also recommend limiting saturated fat, trans fat, cholesterol, salt and alcohol.

Many people look for fast or easy ways to slim down at some point in their lives. And there are hundreds of diet plans out there to lure you. But before you choose between the all-juice diet and the no-carb diet, it is advisable that you must choose the plan that suits your requirements.

The South Beach diet, developed by U.S. cardiologist Arthur Agatston, stress on the intake of good carbohydrates and good fats. The diet encourages consumption of whole grains and large amounts of vegetables, along with adequate amounts of mono and polyunsaturated fats, including omega-3 fatty acids.

People are often willing to try anything that promises to help them lose weight because they want to look or feel better, or because they are worried about getting weight-related diseases. If you want to lose weight, talk to your doctor. He or she can help you develop a weight loss plan that is safe and effective.
