Meat eaters generally have hard time reducing.
Meat being high on protein and fat the minimum of meat diet often
means very less.
The statistics show that there is a high incidence of over weight
individuals among the meat eating populations. Meat is an excess-protein
food. Excess of protein in our body is converted into fat just as
excess of carbohydrates add to our girth .
The fallacy about low-fat meat diets like fish and chicken and even eggs becomes all the more noticeable when the individuals find it too hard to lose weight while keeping with their regular meat diets although with much less consumption. Giving up meat is not easy.
Sometime it is much easier to give up cigarettes and even alcohol but to give up meat is Herculean. Those brought up on meat diet since their childhood finds it difficult to imagine their food being sans meat. They just do not consider the vegetables as their 'propah' food.
"I get butterflies in my stomach if I have skipped meat even once in my meal in a day," says Morna Mitchael of Cornoustie by Sea in Scotland.
Morna's father was a diabetic and terribly overweight all his life
when the doctors wanted him to give up meat altogether "if only
he wanted to have a lease of life for another few years." That was
hard to come by, says Morna who had to struggle hard to change the
diet of her father who obviously wanted him to live long and would
often enter into a fierce argument with on what he should eat and
what not. "I just wish my father's parents knew that meat was not
a good diet and did not bring him up on a diet containing meat,"
morns Morna.
Her father just cannot give up meat in his diet and as a result
the safe, best and prescription diet
pills have little effect on his weight which just would not
buzz.
