Phendimetrazine Side Effects

Phendimetrazine is a weight loss prescription. This diet pill is a sympathomimetic amine. It is also referred as an "anorectic" drug. Phendimetrazine stimulates the central nervous system which includes the nerves and the brain; it works by increasing the heart rate and blood pressure which in turn decreases the appetite. This drug is prescribed for a short duration to treat obesity.
This weight loss pill is used as an appetite suppressant. Phendimetrazine is used in conjunction with a proper diet and an exercise routine. It is available as Phendimetrazine 35 mg tablets or Phendimetrazine 105 mg tablets for rapid weight loss.

Usage Directions for Phendimetrazine:

  • Phendimetrazine should be taken as it has been prescribed by your doctor.
  • Each dose of Phendimetrazine should be taken on an empty stomach.
  • Avoid crushing or chewing this drug as it can enhance the side effects.
  • Do not take this medicine late in the day, as it could cause sleeplessness.
  • This drug should be swallowed as a whole.

Missed Dose:
Incase the dose of Phendimetrazine is missed, do not double the dose. Skip the dose and resume to your normal dosing schedule.

The Side Effects of Using Phendimetrazine are:

  • Blurred vision
  • dry mouth
  • sleeplessness
  • irritability
  • constipation

Notify your doctor if you experience chest pain, nervousness, pounding heart, difficulty urinating, mood changes, breathing difficulties or swelling while taking this medication. If this medication makes you dizzy or lightheaded, avoid driving or engaging in activities requiring alertness.

Precautions:
Tell your doctor your complete medical history especially if you have high blood pressure, an over-active thyroid, glaucoma, diabetes or emotional problems. Consult with your doctor if you think you are pregnant or before breast-feeding. This medication can be habit forming and must be used with caution. Alcohol can increase unwanted side effects of dizziness. Limit alcohol use. This drug is not recommended for use in children. Consult your doctor or pharmacist for further information.

Storage:
Phendimetrazine should be stored at room temperature, away from heat and moisture. This diet drug should be stored in a tightly closed container.

Note:
Appetite suppressants are not a substitute for proper diet. For maximum effects, this must be used in conjunction with a diet and exercise program. Do not share this medication with others. The use of Phendimetrazine along with other weight loss medicines is usually not recommended.
