Tenuate

Tenuate is a sympathomimetic amine. This oral weight loss prescription is also known as an anorectic drug. Tenuate (Diethylpropion HCI) is an oral appetite suppressant used along with diet, exercise, and behavior therapy for the short-term (8-12 weeks) management of obesity. Tenuate diet pills are a safe and effective way for rapid weight loss when it is taken as per directions. Tenuate is highly addictive and should generally be used with a behavior modification program. Tenuate comes in two forms:

  • Immediate release tablets (Tenuate)
  • Controlled release tablets (Tenuate Dospan).
Tenuate comes in doses of 75 mg and is taken according to BMI.

Product Information
Tenuate is a prescription weight loss medication. It is an appetite suppressant that works by stimulating a vital area in your brain called as the hypothalamus which controls your appetite. Tenuate helps in increasing an individual's heart rate and blood pressure, which in turn controls the urge to over eat.

Dosage
Tenuate Dospan is best taken once a day in the mid morning. This sustained-release or long acting product must be swallowed whole. Crushing or chewing them will destroy the long action and may cause increased side effects. TENUATE (25-milligrams) is best taken on an empty stomach; one hour before breakfast each morning. It may be taken again in mid evening if needed to suppress night hunger. Take this medication as prescribed. Do not take it more often or longer than directed. Use in combination with other appetite suppressant medicine is generally not recommended.

Duration of Usage
Tenuate is meant for short-term use (8-12 weeks). Don't think that continuous use will increase the benefit of the pill, as your body starts to build up a resistance to the effects of this medication after a few weeks of treatment. It is always advised to take help from the pill but not to get addicted to it.

Missed Dose:
If you miss a dose of tenuate, take it as soon as possible. But do not take 2 doses at once, doubling up of the medicine is a strict No!

Tenuate diet pills should not be taken if you have:

  • High blood pressure
  • Arteriosclerosis
  • A history of drug or alcohol abuse
  • An anxiety disorder
  • Problems with your thyroid
  • Diabetes
  • Pregnant and lactating women should avoid the use of tenuate

Storing Tenuate:
Tenuate should be stored in a tightly secured container, away from heat and moisture.

Note:
Keep all medications away from the reach of children.
